live action robotech...wtf

Spidey's Maguire Dons Robotech

Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire will produce and may star in a film based on the classic SF anime Robotech, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Warner Brothers Pictures picked up the rights to Robotech, which features giant robots known as mechas. Maguire is producing through his Maguire Entertainment banner and is eyeing the lead role in what the studio plans as an SF franchise a la Paramount's hit Transformers.

Drew Crevello also is producing through his Supercool Hollywood BigTime Productions. Craig Zahler has been tapped to write the screenplay.

Robotech was a cartoon series during the 1980s from Harmony Gold USA and Tatsunoko Productions. It was re-edited and re-dialogued to combine three Japanese anime series to give the producers enough episodes to air as a daily syndicated series.

Robotech takes place at a time when Earth has developed giant robots from the technology on an alien spacecraft that crashed on a South Pacific isle. Mankind is forced to use the technology to fend off three successive waves of alien invasions. The first invasion concerns a battle with a race of giant warriors who seek to retrieve their flagship's energy source, known as "protoculture," and the planet's survival ends up in the hands of two young pilots.

rugby world cup

So the Rugby World Cup started today. Would love to watch it. But in the US unless you get 'Setanta' you are fuct. You can only get this on Dish network. To me this is sad, they have exclusive rights. People who play Rugby bitch all the time about how it is not big over here in the US etc. Well this is one of the reasons. Americans would love this sport. It is easier to understand than football, has better athletes, there are NO timeouts, no pads, and it is fast. Instead I have to go to an Irish pub and risk a DUI on the way home to watch it (or get Dish). If it ever does get over here the NFL are gonna look like bitches.

Dammit cannot sleep, sick, this

Dammit cannot sleep, sick, this sucks I hate being sick... I blame Morse...fucker >:-)

new bike!

OK, so I have been looking at new bikes for a while. Yes, I have plenty already BUT! I wanted a full suspension xc or all mountain bike. I went into Spokes in Ashburn and there was an evil little man there named Alexander. Alexander has managed to help me buy 4 bikes this summer (only 3 are mine). I told him I what I had been looking for and he suggested I try the Specialized Epic. I was blown away, the thing feels like a hardtail! Zero pedal bob! Well I ended up getting it. I keep trying out other companies but Specialized keeps winning out, they are just great. So now there are 10 bikes in my garage. (we are selling 2!)
